The Honda NR750, also known as the NR or the RC40, is a legendary motorcycle produced by Honda in the early 1990s. It was introduced in 1992 and was unlike any other motorcycle of its time, featuring innovative engineering and cutting-edge technology. Rare in itself the RC40 is a limited production run of 280 bikes, even rarer our RC41 is one of just 20 bikes made.

The most notable feature of the NR750 is its oval-piston V4 engine. Instead of traditional circular pistons, the NR750 utilized oval-shaped pistons, which allowed for a larger surface area and more efficient combustion. This design was inspired by Honda's Formula One racing engines and was intended to improve power and efficiency.

The NR750 was also equipped with a unique fuel injection system, a lightweight aluminum frame, and advanced suspension components. Its design was ahead of its time and showcased Honda's commitment to pushing the boundaries of motorcycle engineering.

Due to its advanced technology and limited production numbers, the NR750 was an expensive and exclusive motorcycle. It was primarily produced as a racing homologation model, allowing Honda to compete in the World Superbike Championship.

Today, the Honda NR750 is considered a highly collectible and sought-after motorcycle, revered by enthusiasts for its innovative design and engineering excellence. It remains a symbol of Honda's pursuit of perfection and innovation in the world of motorcycling.

The Honda NR750 is a remarkable feat of engineering, boasting a specification that surpasses even the current crop of Moto GP bikes in terms of technological advancements. The story of this incredible machine can be traced back to Honda's failed NR500 V4 four-stroke racer of 1978, which was conceived to challenge the two-stroke engines that were dominating the Grand Prix at the time. In an attempt to overcome the limitations of the four-cylinder rule, Honda built a V8 engine with conjoined bores that was, in effect, a technological marvel. Despite their best efforts, the engine proved insufficient to subdue the strokers, and Honda was forced to abandon the racing project.

However, the company later resurrected the idea for its flagship roadster, which shares many similarities with the failed NR500 V4 four-stroke racer. This impressive vehicle is a testament to Honda's unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence, and it stands as a shining example of what can be achieved through dedication and perseverance.

The NR750 motorcycle was designed by Mitsuyoshi Kohama, who later worked on the RC211V Moto GP racer.
